Brady Grasdal Memorial Golf Tournament.

MOOSE JAW — A Brady Grasdal Memorial Golf Tournament was held at the end of August at Lynbrook Golf Course.

Family, friends, and a community of supporters and golf lovers attended to show their support in recognition of the much-loved and appreciated hockey player who lost his life at the age of 21 years.

It was a beautiful day to play golf and remember the young life that was well lived. During the opening ceremony a toast was made to Brady, followed by lunch and then a shot-gun start at 1p.m.

The winners of the tournament were Chris Aparicio, Greg Fiddler, Bill McLean and Brad Reaney. Second were Jaxsen Wiebe, Hayden Wiebe, Matt Dueck and Bryan Thompson.

The final amount raised has not yet been announced. The entry fee, raffle items and 50/50 sales contributed to the total, with the winner of the 50/50 donating back his share of the win of $500.

Brady Grasdal was born in Moose Jaw in 2002 and started his hockey career in Moose Jaw. Grasdal also played at Notre Dame, Yorkton, Portage La Prairie, Man. and in Nipawin, as well as becoming an assistant coach for the U15 AA Moose Jaw Warriors.

Brady Grasdal died in December 2023.
