181 new COVID-19 cases, 2 in the South Central

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (41), Regina (32), North Central (18), South West (17), Far North East (16), North West (13), North East (11), Far North West (11), Far North Central (5), Central East (5), South East (5), and South Central (2) zones.

There are 181 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, as of Nov. 16.  

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (41), Regina (32), North Central (18), South West (17), Far North East (16), North West (13), North East (11), Far North West (11), Far North Central (5), Central East (5), South East (5), and South Central (2) zones. 

Both of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Five new cases have pending residence information.

Four previous cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North Central (3) and North East (1) zones.

There are now 5,182 reported cases, including 1,928 active cases.  

Sixty-eight people are in hospital. Fifty-two people are receiving inpatient care — 27 in Saskatoon, six in North Central, six in the South East zone, five in the North East, three in the North West, two in the South West, one in Regina, one in the Far North West, and one in South Central. Sixteen people are in intensive care — seven in Saskatoon, five in Regina, two in North Central, and two in Central East.

Sixty more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 3,223 recoveries.

Of the 5,182 cases in the province:

  • 412 cases are travelers;
  • 2,287 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
  • 1,074 have no known exposures; and
  • 1,409 are under investigation by local public health.

On a regional level:

  • 1,465 cases are from the Saskatoon area;
  • 1,114 cases are from the north area (364 north west, 519 north central, 231 north east);
  • 763 cases are from the Regina area;
  • 672 cases are from the south area (273 south west, 271 south central, 128 south east);
  • 662 cases are from the far north area (499 far north west, 36 far north central, 127 far north east); and
  • 481 cases are from the central area (212 central west, 269 central east).

Thirty-one deaths have been reported to date.

A total of 300,838 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan. Yesterday, 3,134 COVID-19 tests were processed.
