There is one new death to report today. The death was reported in the South Central zone. The provincial total is now at 598.
There are 257 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 29, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (97), North West (38), North Central (23), Regina (17), North East (10), Central East (9), Central West (8), Far North West (6), South Central (6), Far North East (5), South West (5), South East (3), and Far North Central (2).
Three of the six new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.
Twenty-eight cases are pending residence information.
Almost two-fifths (38.1 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.
One Saskatchewan resident confirmed positive tested out-of-province was added to the case counts in South East zone.
There are now 53,875 reported cases, including 2,065 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 225 (18.7 new cases per 100,000).
A total of 12,445 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,185), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (667), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (338), Central West (150), Far North East (99), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 76 screened VOCs with residence pending.
An additional 2,247 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,474,519.

There are 108 people in hospital. Eighty-three people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (33), North Central (23), Regina (12), North West (6), North East (3), Far North West (2), South Central (2), and South East (2). Twenty-five people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (15), North Central (5), and Regina (5).
Of the 108 patients, 77 (71.3 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.
One hundred and seventy-nine more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 51,212 recoveries.
There were 2,125 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,020,033 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
