There are 81 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 8, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (24), South East (13), North Central (7), Far North Central (6), Far North West (5), Regina (5), North West (4), Central East (4), North East (3), South West (3), and South Central (2).
Both of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.
Five cases are pending residence information.
There are now 50,558 reported cases, including 656 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 67 (5.6 new cases per 100,000).
There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 582.
A total of 12,386 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,836), Saskatoon (2,164), South East (1,156), South Central (891), North West (873), Central East (654), North Central (647), South West (416), Far North West (338), Central West (150), Far North East (88), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.
An additional 2,542 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,432,560.

There are 56 people in hospital. Forty-five people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (23), North Central (8), Regina (8), North West (2), Central East (2), South East (1), and South Central (1). Eleven people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (5), Saskatoon (5), and North Central (1).
Fifty-three more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 49,320 recoveries.
There were 1,419 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 973,835 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
