Blades select Moose Jaw's Calvert in WHL Draft

Bantam Warriors standout goes in ninth round, 187th overall

Rowan Calvert is the latest Moose Jaw Minor Hockey Association player to be selected in the Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

The Saskatoon Blades made the 5-foot-8, 180-pound forward their ninth pick, 187th overall during the draft on Wednesday afternoon.

Calvert, the son of former Warriors goaltender Jeff Calvert and younger brother of current Tribe prospect Atley Calvert, had 24 goals and 45 points in 31 games with the Bantam AA Warriors. He scored nine goals and 17 points in 31 games last year.
