MOOSE JAW — The City of Moose Jaw’s transit Route No. 2 will be changing effective Monday, Feb. 3.

The new route will enter the West Park neighbourhood from Ninth Avenue Northwest, continue west on West Park Boulevard and then turn south down 11th Avenue Northwest, with two new stops at the following locations:

  • Southwest corner of 11th Avenue Northwest and West Park Boulevard
  • Southwest corner of 11th Avenue Northwest and Meier Drive

Additionally, two bus stops along the previous route will be removed: 945 Maplewood Drive and the corner of Maplewood Drive and Hayes Lane.

“West Park Boulevard is classified as collector roadway, meaning it is designed for a higher volume of traffic and its width can better accommodate a city bus route,” explained Krysti Johre, manager of Transportation and Procurement.

“The operations team is excited to update our bus route to its intended location on West Park Boulevard, and the new bus stops being introduced will ensure that residences within the West Park neighbourhood will remain within walking distance of a bus stop,” she added.
