MOOSE JAW — The City of Moose Jaw has announced that a paved roadways and sidewalks project will begin in three high-traffic areas starting Monday, Aug. 12.

The locations selected will address two significant isolated settlements on Main Street North and correct deficiencies on Thatcher Drive West. The city also expects to complete the project in one week in all three locations, weather permitting.

The list of areas included in the project and their traffic accommodation plans are:

  • Thatcher Drive West from Ninth Avenue Northwest to 11th Avenue Northwest: Westbound traffic will detour north through West Park, while eastbound traffic will have reduced speeds and have to squeeze right
  • Main Street North at the Caribou Street intersection: Single-lane traffic will be diverted to the northbound lanes, allowing for north and southbound traffic on Main Street. On Caribou Street, west of the intersection, traffic will squeeze left. All directions of traffic will have a reduced speed
  • Main Street between Marlborough Street and Saskatchewan Street East. Northbound traffic will be detoured to 1st Avenue NE. Southbound traffic will squeeze right with a reduced speed and there will be no left turn permitted from Hall Street W on to Main Street during this time.

The City of Moose Jaw asks all drivers to obey signs and exercise caution in construction zones for the safety of everyone because it does not want any more #NotoriouslyCloseCalls.

If residents require assistance, they should use the “Report an Issue” feature on the city’s free app or website.
