City to celebrate public works

The City of Moose Jaw wants to recognize the importance of public works operations and the contributions of employees.

The week of May 19-25 has been declared as “Public Works Week” in Moose Jaw.  The theme of Public Works Week 2019 is “It Starts Here.”

“Public Works infrastructure, facilities and services are of vital importance to our health, safety and well-being,” Mayor Tolmie said.

Public works crews in Moose Jaw are responsible for:  

  • sanitation
  • streets and roads
  • bridges 
  • water and wastewater
  • public transportation
  • parks and green space maintenance 
  • facilities. 

A special Public Works Day celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at the City Complex (1010 High St. West) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You will have an opportunity to meet public works staff and to see equipment used by city crews. The day will also include games and face painting for kids.  

Taco in a bag, TCBY, and a drink will be available by donation. All proceeds will support the Family First Radiothon.
