The pilot COVID-19 drive-through vaccine clinic in Regina has expanded availability to include residents aged 60 years old, effective immediately.
The pilot clinic opened on March 15 and is exclusively delivering the AstraZeneca vaccine to the recommended targeted age group. It is open from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. and is now open on a first-come-first-serve basis for residents aged 60-64 years old on the day of immunization.
Public health has extended the drive-through clinic’s hours for its second day in operation and is now providing estimated wait times through the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s website.
Only AstraZeneca doses are being administered at the drive-through clinic, and all other Phase One vaccine appointments are being delivered at the mass clinic.
The COVID-19 booking system has also expanded today, now allowing remaining Phase One healthcare workers to book their vaccine appointments through the phone line at the Vaccine Call Centre.
Currently, residents aged 70 years or older are eligible to book their first COVID-19 vaccine appointment using the online or phone booking systems.
Beginning March 15, residents aged 50-69 years of age in the Northern Administrative District also became eligible to book their appointments through the Vaccine Call Centre, but not the online system.
