The Moose Jaw Health Foundation recently announced the rescheduled date of this year’s Family First Radiothon, and there’s still more good news for the fundraiser.
Canada Pacific Railway has now announced that it will lend a hand to the annual Radiothon, pledging to match donations dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $20,000 at this year’s event.
“Canadian Pacific (CP) chose the area that would later become the city of Moose Jaw as the division point for its railroad in 1881. CP has a long history in Moose Jaw, and it continues to be an integral location for our network, employing more than 650 people locally,” said local CP superintendent operations Scott McGraw, in a press release.
The donation is part of CP’s community investment program, CP Has Heart, and will be put towards the new cardiac equipment the Radiothon is collecting donations for this year.
The 14th annual Radiothon will take place on Sept. 10 and 11 at the Town 'n’ Country Mall, with a goal of raising $195,000 to purchase new medical equipment needed by frontline workers at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.
Since its launch, the Radiothon has raised over $4.1 million for local healthcare heroes, and the Moose Jaw Health Foundation is hoping to see another year of support this fall.
