MOOSE JAW — Keeping the holiday spirit on track since 1999, the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Railroad is once again lighting up the rails with the anticipated arrival of the 2024 Holiday Train with tour dates recently announced.
The CPKC Holiday Train is scheduled to arrive in Moose Jaw on Saturday, Dec. 7, at approximately 4:30 p.m.
The North American CPKC Holiday Train tour has already begun and will run from Nov. 21 until concluding on Friday, Dec. 20. This marks the tour's 26th year as it embarks on yet another run to spread holiday cheer and raise food, funding, and awareness for residents who currently face food insecurity.
As part of this mission, the tour dutifully stops at each scheduled location and everyone is asked to consider a monetary or non-perishable food donation for their local food bank.
This year’s lineup of live performances will include Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish.
Shaw is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actor known for his chart-topping hits and engaging performances. After winning the Much Music Coca-Cola Covers Contest in 2012, Shaw released his debut single Kiss Goodnight which quickly went gold in Canada. This was followed by his debut album, Yesterday, that followed in 2015. He released his second album, Intuition, in 2018.
Shawnee Kish is a powerful Mohawk singer-songwriter known for her soulful voice and empowering musical performances. A Juno Awards nominee, she received great acclaim for her EP Revolution, featuring collaborations with artists including Max Kerman and Serena Ryder. Kish uses her music to inspire and power — particularly among Indigenous youth — and is a supporter of mental health initiatives including the Kids Help Phone.
