Moose Jaw’s Dayne Heisler will face Rogan Snow in the Curl Sask U20 Men’s Provincial Championship semifinal on Sunday afternoon.

REGINA -- Martensville’s Dylan Derksen has advanced to the final of the Curl Sask U20 Men’s Provincial Championship currently underway in Regina.

Derksen and his rink of third Logan Sawicki, second Tyler Derksen and lead Gavin Martens took a back-and-forth 7-6 extra-end win over Saskatoon Sutherland’s Rogan Snow in the first playoff game Saturday night, earning a spot in the title game Sunday afternoon.

Derksen looked to take control early after scoring in the first end and stealing the next two for a 4-0 lead, but Snow, third Nathan Roy, second Brandon Henbury and lead Josh Lussier responded in the exact same fashion, tying the game 4-4 through six.

The teams exchanged single points the next two ends before Rogan stole in the ninth to take the lead. Derksen would tie things up with a single in the 10th and then get his steal in the extra.

Snow now drops down to the semifinal where he’ll face Moose Jaw’s Dayne Heisler at 9 a.m. at the Highland Curling Club.

Earlier Saturday, Heisler, third Blake Montgomery, second Laine Burnham and lead Jacob Parker won their final round robin game 7-5 over Esterhazy’s Brandon Weiss to finish 3-2 and claim the final playoff spot.

Other results from the final round robin draw saw Derksen take a 9-1 win over Snow and Saskatoon Nutana’s Jared Tessier taking an 8-2 win over Regina Callie’s Andrew Moulding.

Final standings after the round robin were as follows:

Dylan Derksen 5-0
Rogan Snow 4-1
Dayne Heisler 3-2
Jared Tessier 2-3
Andrew Moulding 1-4
Brandon Weiss 0-5

The winner of the semifinal will advance to face Derksen for the U20 provincial championship at 2 p.m on Sunday.

The Saskatchewan champion will advance to the New Holland Canadian U20 Curling Championship in Summerside P.E.I. from Mar. 22-30.
