The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt popular annual events and the Saskatchewan Festival of Words is no exception.

This year, rather than cancel the festival outright, organizers will be moving the proceedings online.

This version of the festival will certainly be familiar, as it will still feature a line-up of authors participating in panels, readings, and workshops.

Confirmed presenters include D.M. Ditson, Marina Endicott, Ferah Heron, Jay Ingram, Kristine Scarrow, Paul Seesequasis, and more.

The festival's dates have been adjusted slightly, now running from July 13-19. All events will be offered free of charge. A full schedule will be available in June, at which time registrations will be accepted.

Although the Festival of Words will held be online, there are still costs associated with hosting such an event. Thus, organizers are asking those who are able to consider donating the cost of a ticket ($10) or a pass ($125 - $200). Donations over $20 will be eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Book sales will also still be a part of the festival. Organizers are working with McNally Robinson and Post Horizon Booksellers here in Moose Jaw. More details will be released soon.
