The Moose Jaw Fire Department has placed a fire ban within the city limits of Moose Jaw, in effect until further notice.
Due to the current dry and windy conditions, MJDF is advising residents to avoid open flames, including firepits, outdoor fireplaces, and anything that burns wood or briquettes. Residents are also recommended to take care when disposing of cigarettes or other smoking materials.
Fireworks are not allowed without a permit from the city but are currently not recommended during the ban.
Propane-fueled items, such as BBQs or fireplaces, are still allowed for use.
The fire ban will remain in place for the foreseeable future, until conditions improve, and the MJFD announces to the public the ban is lifted.
