There is lots to do on this, the first weekend in March. When you are not busy watching Telemiracle and helping to ring those phones, be sure to check out some of the following local events.

Moose Jaw Sno-Drifters Sled Rally

On Saturday, the Moose Jaw Sno-Drifters will hold a Sled Rally in Tuxford. Registrations will start at 10 a.m. at the Tuxford Community Hall and will end at 12 p.m. The cost to enter the rally is $15 per rider. That cost includes lunch and the first hand of cards. The day will include cash prizes, a penny parade, and other activities.

Moose Jaw Pride mural meetings

Moose Jaw Pride will soon be painting a new mural near Crescent Park. The group is looking for input on the design. To that end, a two-part workshop will be held on Saturday at the Moose Jaw Public Library. The first section will start at 1 p.m. and will focus on the design of the mural. The second half will begin at 3 p.m. and will focus on building the skills needed to create the mural. Stop by to provide input and learn how you can participate in the project.

Moose Jaw Warriors vs. Prince Albert Raiders

On Saturday the Warriors will be in for another hard-fought battle as they host the WHL’s top team, the Prince Albert Raiders. Moose Jaw took the Raiders to the limit back on Feb. 18, losing 4-3. You can expect the Warriors’ top scorers, like CHL Player of the Week Brayden Tracey, will give the Raiders a hard time. The game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Mosaic Place box office.

Ice Fishing on March 3

The Association communautaire fransaskoise de Moose Jaw (ACF Moose Jaw) will host their annual fishing derby on Sunday at Buffalo Pound Lake from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please note a fishing licence is required for participants who are 16 years and older. You are invited to bring your own equipment, chair, and shelter, but you can still participate if you don’t have anything to bring because there will be materials to borrow. Volunteers will be on hand to help inexperienced anglers. You can register the day of the derby. There are lots of prizes to be won! Grab your rod and head to the lake! For more information, call 306-692-8112 or contact [email protected].

Seedy Sunday

Although it is still cold and snowy, spring will be here soon. That means it is time to start thinking about your garden. The popular Seedy Sunday event will return on Sunday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Public Library. Bring your seeds and you can swap and share with others. You will also be able to purchase seeds from heirloom vendors and gain useful gardening tips.
