City council officially named 42 people to 12 advisory boards and committees during its recent regular meeting.
Council initially approved a recommendation during its Nov. 14 executive committee meeting to nominate the dozens of residents to the boards and committees, while it officially confirmed their appointments after approving the executive committee minutes during its Nov. 27 regular meeting.
Community cleanup committee
Donna MacQuarrie-Bye with Wakamow Valley Authority, Geoff Anderson with Downtown Moose Jaw Association, Sandra Stewart with the Northwest Community Association, Robin Mitchell with CUPE Local 9, Darren Teneycke with Prairie South School Division (PSSD), Jacki L’Heureux-Mason with Tourism Moose Jaw, Jesse Watamanuk with the city’s public works department and Cory Oakes with the city’s parks and recreation department have been appointed to the community clean up committee from Jan. 1, 2024 to Dec. 31, 2025 or until a successor is appointed.
Cultural diversity advisory committee
Leah Tschetter with PSSD, Abdul Alabi and Stefanie Palmer (alternate) with the Multicultural Council, and Nazmia Bengeleil with the Women’s International Society have been named to the cultural diversity advisory committee from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Public art committee
Jennifer Warren with the Cultural Centre, Jennifer McRorie with the museum and art gallery and L’Heureux-Mason have been named to the public art committee from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Public works, infrastructure and environment advisory committee
Matt Fullerton from 15 Wing, Amanda Olson from PSSD, Ward Strueby from Holy Trinity Catholic School Division and David Kanz, citizen-at-large, have been named to the public works, infrastructure and environment advisory committee from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Development appeals board
Brian Martynook, Cliff Wheatley and David Danchilla, all citizens-at-large, have been named to the development appeals board from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2026, or until a successor is appointed.
Public library board
Sarah Vennes-Ouellet, Jaimie Atkins, Teri Bourdages and Jamie Olmstead, all citizens-at-large, have been appointed to the Moose Jaw Public Library board from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Municipal airport authority
Laura Lawrence, citizen-at-large, and Greg Simpson, Mitch Dougal and Levi Wood, regional representatives, have been appointed to the Moose Jaw Municipal Airport Authority from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Also, Simpson was named chairman, and Lawrence was named vice-chairwoman for that period.
Regional library board
Cody Sharpe and Megan Latta, citizens-at-large and members of the public library board have been named to the Palliser Regional Library board from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Wakamow Valley Authority
Brett Hagan, citizen-at-large, has been appointed to the Wakamow Valley Authority board from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Heritage advisory committee
John Bye, Janie Fries and John Trodd, citizens-at-large, have been named to the heritage advisory committee from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Parks, recreation and facilities advisory committee
Mariann Mann, Kyleigh Coad and Tucker Beattie, citizens-at-large, and Donna Hudson, senior citizen-at-large, have been named to the parks, recreation and facilities advisory committee from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025, or until a successor is appointed.
Board of Police Commissioners
Patricia Martynook and Nicole Swanson, citizens-at-large, have been named to the Board of Police Commissioners from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2024, or until a successor is appointed.
The next regular council meeting is Monday, Dec. 4.
