The day the Moose Jaw Warriors and their fans have anticipated since the Western Hockey League shut down in the middle of last March has finally arrived.

The Warriors announced Friday afternoon that a return-to-play agreement had been reached between the Western Hockey League and the Saskatchewan provincial government to allow East Division teams to begin a 24-game schedule on Mar. 12.

The five Saskatchewan teams — the Warriors, Regina Pats, Prince Albert Raiders, Saskatoon Blades and Swift Current Broncos — will be joined by the Brandon Wheat Kings and Winnipeg Ice out of Manitoba in a bubble format in Regina.

More to come soon.
