Highways surrounding Moose Jaw under winter warnings, accident near Belle Plaine

Moose Jaw highways are under a winter weather warning, with an accident reported near Belle Plaine on Highway 1

Highways surrounding Moose Jaw are currently under winter weather warnings.

Due to a sweep of snow blowing in overnights, the roads surrounding Moose Jaw and area are currently under a winter weather warning from Saskatchewan Highways. 

Winter conditions including low visibility, blowing snow and slippery roads have been reported on all highways surrounding Moose Jaw. Travel is currently not recommended in Regina. 

The Saskatchewan Highway Hotline has also closed the westbound lanes of Highway 1 between Moose Jaw and Regina due to an accident near Belle Plaine. Police are on-site, and a detour has been set up for drivers to avoid the scene.

Drivers are being asked to take caution on the roads. Environment Canada expects Moose Jaw will continue seeing periods of light snow overnight.
