It will be a hot one! Heat warning in effect

With temperatures expected to hover around the 32 C mark over the next few days, Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Moose Jaw and the surrounding area.

Environment Canada reminds residents to be mindful of the effects of heat illness, which includes:

  • swelling;
  • rash;
  • cramps;
  • fainting;
  • heat exhaustion;
  • heat stroke;
  • the worsening of some health conditions.

The symptoms of heat illness include: dizziness/fainting, nausea/vomiting, rapid breathing and heartbeat, extreme thirst, and decreased urination with unusually dark urine. Call HealthLine at 811 for more information.

With such hot temperatures, please remember that pets should not be left in parked cars.

Temperatures are expected to return to seasonal levels by Sunday.
