Eighth end: Kennedy at it again, makes a nice double with last shot to clear out a couple Swiss stones, Canada sits pair top 12 foot and full eight foot in line with each other and open. SVB draws back four foot behind Canada rock at top 12 foot. Jacobs makes raise takeout on own stone to sit three in a line from top four to back eight. SVB draws back four foot behind Canada's cover at top 12 foot. Jacobs hits for four and that’s the ball game.

Seventh end: Jacobs has open hit on Swiss stone with first shot and makes it to lay three, including shot rock touching top four foot and second shot back eight foot. SVB makes double to remove both of those and sit full eight foot, Switzerland also has rock in eight foot biting 12 foot. Jacobs hits Swiss shot rock and rolls to sit full eight foot behind cover. SVB hits that stone to score two.

Sixth end: Canada laying one on button at skips stones, Switzerland has two rocks frozen together in front in four foot and eight foot, Canada laying one top 12 foot. Jacobs tries runback and gets things moving, leading to Switzerland laying shot touching top button with Canada second and third shot side and top eight foot. SVB tries touch tap to sit two but somehow slips between Canada and Swiss stones, complete miss. Jacobs hits Swiss stone and rolls behind cover. SVB attempts to draw button and comes up just light. Canada steals one. Hard to describe how well this is all going for Canada and how well they’re playing.

Fifth end: At skips stones Canada laying first and second shot on button and top four foot, Switzerland third shot top eight foot, Canada fourth shot top 12 foot. SVB makes nice shot to freeze to Jacobs stone on button. Jacobs peels off one of guards out front. SVB freeze to own rock touching button. Jacobs tries big weight double and makes an absolute pistol to score three. Jacobs is curling 98 per cent at the break, Canada as a team is at 96.

Fourth end: Canada has shot rock back 12 foot at skips stones, Switzerland second shot in 12 foot. Jacobs throws perfect freeze to Swiss shot rock. SVB draws to side eight foot. Jacobs draws to sit beside Swiss rock in eight foot and sits half four foot. SVB taps Canada’s shot stone and rolls to four foot to score one.

Third end: Canada laying three at skips stones, with rocks on either side of 12 foot behind the t-line and one back eight foot. SVB makes nice double and has roll for triple but just misses. Canada still lays one. Jacobs draws behind cover touching four foot. SVB takes out rock in 12 foot. Jacobs draws eight foot for two.

Second end: Kennedy makes runback takeout with final shot, Canada laying four all over house. Schwaller hits to sit third shot, Canada shot rock at edge four foot behind t-line. Jacobs draws to bite top of button, Canada lays three. SVB makes touch angle raise to sit in four foot behind cover, but second shot. Jacobs takes out high guard with final shot. SVB makes great angle raise tap to move rock in four foot to top button next to Canada counter, and we have a measurement. SVB gets one.

Kennedy draws four foot. Schwaller hits and sticks touching four foot wide open. Jacobs hits and rolls to bite button. Schwarz-Van Berkel (hereafter SVB) makes delicate hit and rolls to button partially behind cover. Jacobs hits and sticks to sit full four foot wide open. SVB hits and rolls out for blank.

Switzerland has hammer, but again by the closest of margins -- this time only 4.2 cm

It’s become a bit of a broken record at this point, but Canada once again finds themselves in a first-place showdown during Draw 17 -- this time against Switzerland’s Yannick Schwaller. Canada’s Brad Jacobs has sole possession of the lead with an 8-1 record, with Schwaller one loss behind at 7-2. Canada has locked down a playoff spot and Schwaller pretty much does the same with a win of his own. So follow along and see how things shake out!
