A massive blaze destroyed the Dollar Tree and Bulk Barn stores on Thatcher Drive on Thursday night, sending flames high into the sky at its worst and keeping the Moose Jaw Fire Department on scene for many hours.
The fire broke out around 7:30 p.m., with stores in the area evacuated by 7:45 p.m. Crews from both fire stations battled the conflagration.
Both businesses were completely gutted, but firefighters were able to contain the fire to the immediate mini-mall area.
Fire crews were still working on the blaze as of 9 p.m. and expecting to be at work well into the late evening.
There’s no immediate report of injuries or other damage in the area.
