MOOSE JAW — The City of Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce congratulate Geri and Rod Nash, our “Notoriously Good Neighbours” for August.

The City of Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce created the program to recognize the Notoriously Friendly, Notoriously Generous and Notoriously Kind-Hearted Moose Javians making a Notoriously Positive difference in our community.

Nominated by Hannah Verville, she says the two have been the ideal neighbours and friends. According to Verville, the pair not only care for the people living next to them but the entire community.

As well, “When we needed a car because ours was totaled, they provided us their car to use,” she said. “If we can’t get our garbage can or recycling bin out on the street on time, they take care of that for us and when we had our dog, they would always watch him when we were away. They also make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless every Sunday.”

Verville added they not only help her family care for their home, but they also treat them to delicious meals as well.

“Each winter they will make soup every Friday and bring some over for us. And whenever they make food in their smoker, they always bring some over.”

She said they can always count on Geri and Rod when her family takes a trip and the two have always been there for their neighbours in every way possible.

As official “Notoriously Good Neighbours”, the couple was awarded gift certificates to Tunnels of Moose Jaw, a token of appreciation for their contributions to the community.
