Moose Jaw hosting Baseball Sask 15U AA provincials this weekend

Tier II championship taking place at Blackwell and Andrie Diamonds beginning Friday afternoon

MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM -- The Moose Jaw Canucks will have a chance to contend for a provincial championship right here at home this weekend.

The Canucks will act as hosts of the Baseball Sask 15U AA Tier II championship beginning Friday afternoon, with eight teams from all over the province taking part in the event.

Moose Jaw will play in round robin Pool B with the Battleford Beavers, Saskatoon Black A’s and Saskatoon Blue Jays, with the Lumsden Cubs, Macklin Lakers, Saskatoon Cardinal Aces and Weyburn Beavers taking the field in Pool A.

Things get underway at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Macklin Lakers facing Weyburn at 2 p.m. at Blackwell Diamond and the Cardinal Aces taking on Lumsden at Andrie Diamond.

The Canucks open their tournament at 5 p.m. against Battlefords at Blackwell, with the Black As and Blue Jays playing at the same time at Andrie.

The round robin continues all day Saturday, with the Canucks taking on the Blue Jays at 11:30 a.m. and Black A’s at 5:30 p.m. to wrap up their preliminary round action.

Tie breakers are at 9 a.m. Sunday, followed by the semifinals at 12 p.m. and gold medal game at 4 p.m. at Blackwell. If no tiebreaker is needed, the semifinals will take place at 10 a.m. and gold medal game at 2 p.m.
