The Peacock Toilers are the 2021 Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association 4A girls provincialvolleyball champions.
A season that was special from the beginning has turned into a provincial 4A high school girls volleyball championship for the Peacock Toilers.

The Toilers capped off their run to the title with a 25-15, 16-25, 15-11 victory over the North Battleford John Paul II Crusaders in the gold medal final in Moosomin on Saturday night.

The city champion Toilers entered the playoff round with the second-best round-round robin record at 3-1 after falling 22-25, 25-13, 15-9 to the Crusaders to close out preliminary action Saturday morning.

A 25-15, 25-14 win over Meadow Lake got Peacock back on track, though, and they’d go on to defeat their fellow Moose Jaw high school league finalist, the Central Cyclones, 25-11, 25-9 in the tournament semifinal.

Central had a perfect run through the round robin and defeated Martensville 25-22, 23-25, 15-11 in their quarter-final. The loss to Peacock sent the Cyclones to face the Humboldt Mohawks in the bronze medal game.

There, the Cyclones would fall 25-19, 20-25, 15-8 to finish fourth in the province.

The championship win marks a repeat win for Moose Jaw in the 4A girls division, as the Vanier Spirits won the title in 2019.
