Carter Wickenheiser scored a pair of goals and Dazza Mitchell turned aside 26 shots as the Cougars rolled to a 4-1 win over Penticton’s Okanagan Hockey Academy at Barkman Arena.
Tate Schofer and Beau Helmeczi added single markers while Easton DeBray picked up two assists for PHA, who found themselves in a scoreless draw through the first period and leading 2-0 through two.
Hunter Neal scored the lone goal for Okanagan, Nick Peters made 27 saves.
The tournament continues all day Saturday with Okanagan taking on Rink Hockey Academy (8:30 a.m.), PHA battling Pursuit of Excellence (11 a.m.), OHA facing Notre Dame (4:30 p.m.) and POE closing out the day against Rink (7 p.m.).
Action wraps up Sunday with Notre Dame against OHA (8 a.m.) and PHA vs. Rink (10:30 a.m.).
