A drive-through vaccine clinic is now open in Regina beginning Monday morning, available only to residents aged 64 as they are the first age group eligible to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The pilot clinic will be delivering vaccines to only these priority individuals and to Phase One priority healthcare workers, as they have been identified as the most suited group to receive the newly approved vaccine

Located on the grounds of the Regina Exhibition Association, the pilot clinic will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. on March 15.

Vaccines will be delivered on a first-come, first-serve basis, and appointments cannot be pre-booked.  Only individuals who are 64 years of age on the day of the clinic — born between March 16, 1956 and March 15, 1957 — are eligible to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine from the clinic.

Those attending the vaccine clinic are advised by public health to enter the exhibition grounds via Lewvan Drive and 11th Avenue and follow the green signs. Blue signage on-site leads to the mass immunization clinic, which is only open to appointments for Phase One groups, and yellow signage leads to the drive-through COVID-19 testing site.

The drive-through clinic will continue to become available to more age groups in the future, opening up eligibility based on age in order from oldest to youngest.

A public service announcement will be issued as the clinic becomes available to more age groups, and residents are asked not to attend the drive-through clinic until their age category is announced.
