The Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) has arrested and charged Destiny Tarrant, 29, with several firearms-related offences that are being added to a string of drug-related offences following her arrest on April 9.
After a lengthy police investigation on said individual, the MJPS executed a search warrant at an undisclosed downtown establishment on April 9. During the search, police located and seized various amounts of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, cash in excess of $2,000 CAD, and an expandable baton.
Tarrant was then arrested without further incident.
As a result, Tarrant has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of morphine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon for the expandable baton, and possession of property obtained by crime.
During an earlier incident that occurred on April 7, Tarrant fled from police in a stolen vehicle and has since been charged with flight from police and for the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
When police apprehended Tarrant following the pursuit, a firearm was located and seized from within the vehicle, adding several firearms-related offences to the record.
Tarrant made her first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on the morning of Thursday, April 11, and has been remanded to the Regina Correctional Facility until her next hearing which is scheduled for Thursday, April 25 in Moose Jaw.
