The Moose Jaw Police Service has arrested a man connected to a home invasion that left its occupant hospitalized, while a second suspect remains at large.
Joshua Bradley Adams, 28, is in custody, while his accomplice Gill Ryan Perreault, 29, is still on the lam following a home invasion on Sept. 13 that severely injured the homeowner.
Officers responded to a call around 8 p.m. about a suspicious occurrence at a residence on the 1200 block of Irving Avenue on South Hill. On scene, members found an injured 28-year-old male in the residence.
Following a further investigation, officers learned that Adams and Perreault broke into the victim’s residence armed with a shotgun and knife. The victim then suffered a serious, non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the head and was stabbed multiple times. EMS transported him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of this offence, Adams was on a lifetime order of prohibition not to possess firearms.
Both Adams and Perreault fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. However, police later arrested Adams without incident and remanded him into custody while they issued an arrest warrant for Perreault.
The public should be aware that Perreault could be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. He is described as 5-9 with brown eyes and black hair.
Police have charged Adams with one count of breaking and entering, one count of attempted murder, one count of possessing a firearm while prohibited, and one count of possessing a firearm without a valid license or registration.
Perreault is facing one count of breaking and entering and one count of attempted murder.
While investigating the residence, officers also discovered and seized one kilogram of fentanyl with a street value of roughly $400,000, along with $6,700 in Canadian currency.
The investigation is still ongoing and the Moose Jaw Police Service will provide an update once additional information becomes available.
Adams will appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Sept. 15.
