Police issue fine for COVID non-compliance

An individual was charged $2,800 for failing to self-isolate for 14 days

An individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 has been charged with failing to comply with the Public Health Order.

According to a press release, yesterday the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) received a complaint that someone had failed to self-isolate for 14 days after testing positive for the coronavirus.

After an investigation and in consultation with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), this individual was fined $2,800 for non-compliance of the order.

The MJPS, along with the SHA, have taken steps to notify and advise members of the public who have had contact with this individual.
