It is safe to go outside once again.
Police were kept busy yesterday, after a cougar was spotted on a doorbell camera.
Last night, shortly before midnight, police were alerted to a cougar sighting in the area of the 1100 block of Main St. North.
Police were able to track the cougar's movements by using a drone.
Due to public safety concerns, and in consultation with the Conservation Officers on scene, police successfully euthanized the cougar. It was determind that any attempt to tranquilize the animal in an urban setting would be not effective, or safe for the public.
