Produce sold from colony site

For fresh, locally grown produce this season, visit the Baildon Hutterite Colony

The Baildon Hutterite Colony is selling vegetables from the colony this year instead of having a market in Moose Jaw.

The colony’s short of people to work a market in the city, as many of the members are busy building a new colony near Drinkwater.

It could take a year or more until the new colony is complete.

“People have been coming out here to buy stuff ever since we started,“ said Matt Wipf.

Sales are conducted from the produce building on the east end of the colony buildings.

Friday, Saturday and Tuesday are good days to buy vegetables.

Sales will continue until at least the end of September.

The colony is located south of Moose Jaw. Take Highway Two to the Briercrest road and turn east.
