The Government of Saskatchewan has announced its latest COVID-19 prevention measures.

Effective today, March 16, the Chief Medical Health Officer of Saskatchewan has made the following orders:

  • visitation at long-term care homes, hospitals, personal care homes and group homes restricted to essential visitors (immediate family);
  • faith-based organizations are no longer exempt to public gathering restrictions.

Additionally, SaskGaming is suspending operations. Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw will therefore be temporarily closed until further notice. It is recommended that all non-SaskGaming casinos operated by SIGA should voluntarily suspend operations as well.

Any Saskatchewan residents currently travelling internationally are advised to return to Canada while commercial options are available.  All non-essential international should be avoided until further notice.

All travellers returning from international destinations — including the United States — need to self-isolate and monitor their health for 14 days upon return.

Travellers returning from within Canada are advised to self-monitor for 14 days upon return.

Remember: if you have recently travelled internationally and are experiencing respiratory or flu-like symptoms, please call HealthLine 811.

A new COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool is available online. It helps residents determine whether they should be tested.
