The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed July 22-26 as Child and Youth in Care Week.

This special week celebrates and reflects on the value and diversity of youth who are in, or from, care. It is intended to let children and youth who experience with the care system know that their experiences, voices, and knowledge are valued.

Ultimately, the message is that they are not alone.

“Child and Youth in Care Week gives us the opportunity to recognize and thank care providers across the province for their unique skill set and unwavering commitment to our province’s youngest residents,” Social Services Minister Paul Merriman said. “Our Government appreciates the support and services provided by the Saskatchewan Youth in Care and Custody Network to our province’s most vulnerable citizens.”

Child and Youth in Care Week in Saskatchewan has been celebrated since 2014.
