Everyone knows we should all shop local, and this weekend you have the perfect opportunity to do so.

Moose Jaw Families for Change (MJFFC) will be hosting its first ever Imagine Local: Craft Sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kinsmen Inclusion Centre.

“The Imaging Local: Craft Sale will be the first annual craft sale that we will be holding at the Kinsmen Inclusion Centre,” said Katie Statler, community coordinator with MJFFC. “With Moose Jaw Families for Change’s recent expansion with the addition of the Kinsmen Inclusion Centre, we wanted to host an event that would give back to the community by promoting handmade, local businesses.”

The event will include a variety of hand-made items. There will be 16 different vendors in total.

“People can expect to be able to shop for toddlers and babies, to shop for their cats and dogs, and to shop for themselves because there will be self-care products like soaps and bath bombs, lots of jewelry, and handmade clothing, all that sort of stuff.”

Admission is by donation. Proceeds will support the Kinsmen Inclusion Centre and, in particular, the purchase of a new vehicle.

“We have a community program and we do day programming. That vehicle will be used to transport the folks that we support here at the Kinsmen Inclusion Centre out into the community for volunteering partnerships, doing acts of good deeds, that sort of thing.”

The Kinsmen Inclusion Centre is located at 335 Fourth Ave. S.W. The facility is wheelchair accessible, so everyone is encouraged to attend.
