The first-place Estevan Chargers will face the second-place Moose Jaw Spartans in the title game on Saturday evening, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. at MacDonald Field.
Estevan goes into the game as the favourite after posting a 6-1 record, with their only loss coming back on the first day of the season in a 23-19 defeat at the hands of the Moose Jaw Lions.
The Spartans capped their regular season with a 4-3 record, with two of those losses coming at the hands of Estevan. And if you’re wondering if the title game could be an interesting one, you just have to look at the scores between the two teams -- 33-20 in Moose Jaw on Sept. 25 and a 60-51 barnburner in the rematch on Oct. 10 in Estevan.
Estevan defeated Weyburn 64-0 in their semifinal last weekend, while the Spartans battled to a 20-16 win over the Lions to book their spot in the title game.
The U14 division is also in action Saturday with their semifinals.
The Yorkton Gridders (4-3) will travel to Moose Jaw to face the Vikings (5-1) and the Swift Current Steelers (3-4) will travel to Weyburn to take on the unbeaten Falcons (6-0). Game time for the Moose Jaw contest is 7 p.m., just after the U12 final.
Weyburn and the Vikings received quarter-final byes after finishing one-two in the league standings, while Yorkton defeated the Moose Jaw Raiders 40-18 in their first-round game and Swift Current downed Estevan 21-12 in their quarter-final.
