On the eighth of November, Peacock Collegiate officially reopened the Centennial Auditorium, which has been under major renovations since the end of June.
These renovations marked the end of ‘Phase One’ of the project to fix up the auditorium. ‘Phase One’ included fixing and replacing the seats, the floors, the lights, and painting the walls. ‘Phase two’ will mainly focus on the stage, lighting, rigging, sound booth and curtains.
The Centennial Auditorium is a venue that has supported thousands of performers, bands, choirs, dancers, and speakers over the last 87 years. It is one of the largest theatre spaces in the province and has been home to hundreds of school and community plays, musicals, choir and band performances.
A huge thank you goes out to the many community members, alumni, and businesses that have supported the renovation. A special thank you goes out to all the platinum donors which include:
- Moose Jaw Co-op for sponsoring the balcony
- Heritage Insurance Ltd.
- McDougall Acres Ltd.
