KINDERSLEY -- So far, so good for three teams at the top of the Viterra Prairie Pinnacle women’s provincial curling championship.
Moose Jaw’s Penny Barker, Saskatoon’s Nancy Martin and Regina’s Jolene Campbell all sit with three wins through the first two days of competition, with Barker and Martin both undefeated at 3-0 and Campbell at 3-1.
Campbell and her rink of third Rachel Erickson, second Abby Ackland and lead Dayna Demmans opened Wednesday action by scoring three in the final two ends to take a 7-4 win over Regina’s Brooklyn Stevenson before rolling to a 9-2 win over Saskatoon’s Amber Holland.
Martin, third Chaelynn Kitz, second Kadriana Kott and lead Deanna Doig also picked up a pair of wins Wednesday, taking a 7-6 extra-end victory over fellow Nutana foursome Jessica McCartney in the morning draw and following up with a 12-4 win over Regina’s Michelle Englot.
Barker, third Lindsay Bertsch, second Taryn Scachtel and lead Danielle Sicinski had a single game in the morning draw, but rolled to a 9-2 win over Englot for their third-straight commanding win.
The other result in the 8 a.m. draw saw Holland take an 8-6 win over Balgonie’s Mandy Selzer.
Seltzer rebounded with an 11-5 win over McCartney in the 4 p.m. draw, while Saskatoon’s Ashley Thevenot defeated Stevenson 7-1.
