Ticket deadline for Festival of Trees fundraiser in support of hospital is Oct. 16

The Moose Jaw Health Foundation’s (MJHF) Festival of Trees is fast approaching on Saturday, October 21, and organizers are reminding guests to get their tickets before the deadline of Oct. 16

The Moose Jaw Health Foundation’s (MJHF) Festival of Trees is fast approaching on Saturday, October 21, and organizers are reminding guests to get their tickets before the deadline of Oct. 16.

The banquet/auction/gala is one of Moose Jaw’s most-anticipated holiday events each year, and is usually held in November. Because this year’s goal is to help the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital purchase equipment that will improve breast cancer detection and surgeries, Festival of Trees was moved up to help promote and support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Everyone in the room will have a connection to someone they know who has breast cancer. Many doctors, nurses, breast cancer survivors, or family members will be in the audience that night,” said Kelly McElree, executive director of the MJHF.

“That night, people will be united to imagine a brighter future for breast cancer patients.”

Tickets $125 each ($50 less than in previous years) and available from Sasktix.ca.

The ticket deadline for the Festival of Trees Brunch, organized by the Hospital Auxiliary for noon the next day, is October 20.

The schedule of the 2023 Festival of Trees on Saturday, Oct. 21 is:

  • 5 p.m. Cocktails
  • 6 p.m. Dinner, a prime rib buffet with a seafood tower
  • 8 p.m. Grand Auction, with dancing to follow

Music will be by popular locals The Uncoolas.

Dr. Caitlyn Howe, a physician at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Hospital, and her father Cam Howe, a longtime MJHF board member, will co-emcee the event.

Guests can once again look forward to a delicious meal with locally sourced ingredients, a multitude of beautiful and varied Christmas tree displays, generously donated auction items, and an entertaining program.
