The Moose Jaw Public Library is hosting another round of informational sessions with their research technician and archive expert Stephanie Jeanes.

On Feb. 25, the popular topic of the Wild Animal Park and its history will return, having been one of the requested sessions in the fall.

On Mar. 31, the session will focus on the history of the Canadian Pacific Railway here in Moose Jaw, as it dates back to before the city was a settlement.

And on Apr. 28, the Archives will talk about Moose Jaw’s hotels over the years.

Jeanes will be on hand to talk about the archives and answer questions on each topic, and share the materials in the archives that may be of interest to see — including newspaper clippings, old photos, blueprints, city documents, and more.

The archives program has been met with lots of interest from Moose Jaw in the past few months since the Library began hosting these open sessions, and Jeanes feels it is a low-pressure way for the public to familiarize themselves with how the archives work.

Each session will take place at 7 p.m., and is free for anyone to drop by. The program is drop-in, which means the public is welcome to stop at any time in the evening to peruse the archives materials.

Aside from the free sessions that are scheduled, anyone can access the Library Archives by calling the front desk and making an appointment to visit.
