The former standout baseball player and all-around athlete has reached the quarter-finals of the prestigious Mr. Health and Fitness contest and is literally hours away from potentially reaching the semifinals
What’s on the line?
How does $20,000 and the worldwide fame brought by a cover shoot and two-page spread in Muscle and Fitness magazine sound?
Usher has embarked on a competitive bodybuilding career and alongside wife Melissa Usher has dedicated his life to physical fitness, as his profile in the Mr. Health and Fitness voting page indicates: ‘hard working father of 2 amazing boys and step dad to 3 more amazing kids. My life is based around family, fitness and chasing dreams’.
Usher has found success in competitive bodybuilding, too -- he took the stage in the 2020 National Physique Committee (NPC) Worldwide Amateur Olympia back in December and finished third in the Classic Physique Open D division out of 17 competitors from all over the world.
Usher has steadily moved through the Mr. Health and Fitness competition, first finishing in the top 15 in his group through Facebook voting. He then finished in the top 10, the top five and finally was voted the winner of his group back on July 15.
That sent Usher into the quarter-finals -- and the top one per cent of the entire competition — where as of this writing he currently holds first place.
A win there and things get serious. He’ll move into the top 16 and the semifinals, where voting will be reset and a new round will begin this Friday and end Friday, July 29.
So how can you help?
