King, 18, will face Jaylen Luypen of the Edmonton Oil Kings in his second-round match-up at 6:25 p.m. local time. The event is a cross-Canadian Hockey League tournament featuring all 60 teams from the Western Hockey League, Canadian Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playing through a single-elimination onine tournament on the NHL 21 PlayStation 4 video game.
King won his opening-round match-up this past weekend over Kyrell Sopotyk, taking a 5-2 victory over the Kamloops Blazers forward. Luypen, meanwhile, defeated Majid Kaddoura of the Prince George Cougars 3-1 in his first round contest.
All games are streamed on Facebook Live and Twitch.
The news wasn’t as good for former Warrior Luka Burzan earlier this week, as the former Brandon Wheat Kings forward dropped an 8-2 decision to Zachary Roy of the Hamilton Bulldogs.
The tournament continues through to the championship final on Dec. 17.
