BUFFALO POUND LAKE - On Dec. 28, 2024, at 4 p.m., Moose Jaw Conservation Officers received a TIPP call regarding two whole Northern Pike that were left to waste approximately 1.5 miles west of the Sun Valley Resort, near Buffalo Pound Lake, at the Junction of Range RD 2265 and Township RD 200.
Conservation Officers responded to the scene and found two northern pike that measured 71cm (28 inches) and 93cm (36.6 inches). Both fish were fresh, whole and semi-frozen. Officers noted that the one pike was still moving and believe that the occurrence took place approximately between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2024.
Officers were able to collect evidence from the scene and are asking the public for any further information that may assist in their investigation. If anyone observed any unusual or suspicious activity, vehicles, or individuals in the area during this time it may assist in the investigation.
