You will find lots of fun activities in and around Moose Jaw and area this weekend. The following list highlights some events you won’t want to miss out on.

Homegrown Farmer’s Market

Shop local at the Homegrown Farmer’s Market this Saturday. As usual, the market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Langdon Crescent. You will find all kinds of tasty treats, homemade items, and fresh produce. Be mindful of restricted access, due to construction.

Tai Chi at the Moose Jaw Public Library

Get ready to relax this weekend. The Moose Jaw Chinese Association and the Moose Jaw Public Library will offer its tai chi program on Saturday at 10 a.m. Please note the program has moved indoors and can be found in the South Meeting Room on the second floor of the library. This is a drop-in program. Please wear comfortable clothing. 

Queen City AniFest

Do you love anime? Cosplay? Video games? Be sure to drive to Regina this weekend for the third annual Queen City AniFest, which will be held at the Conexus Arts Centre from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be all kinds of fun and games, including a cosplay contest, exhibitors, gaming tournaments, and more.  Admission is $20 for anyone older than 13, with kids under 12 getting in for free. 

Run to the Oasis

The Majestics Car Club out of Regina will once again hold their annual Run to the Oasis event this Saturday. The day kicks off with the poker run beginning at 11 a.m. A show and shine will be held at the Tourism Centre from 1 to 4 p.m. The weekend will end with a breakfast on Sunday morning, along with an awards ceremony. Proceeds from the event will go to the Moose Jaw Humane Society.

Activities at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park

Head out to Buffalo Pound Provincial Park this weekend for several fun activities. First, on Saturday you can try out one of the popular survival skills programs from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Elm View Day Use Area. 

Next, hoop dancer Terrance Littletent will perform at Pinecone Place from 7 to 8 p.m.

Finally, you can take in the Legends of the Night Sky Campfire program at the Elm View Day Use Area from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. You will hear various legends about the stars in the sky.

Transplant Trot Golf Tournament

The Transplant Trot will be hitting the links on Saturday at Deer Ridge Golf Course. Tee-off is at 1 p.m. Teams of four can register right up until the start. It is an 18-hole tournament with a banquet supper included. The event will raise funds and awareness for organ and tissue donations.

End of Summer Party

It’s been a fun summer of reading, but it is time to wrap up the TD Summer Reading Club for another year. The End of Summer Party will be held at the Moose Jaw Public Library from on Saturday from 2:30 to 5 p.m. The day will include games, prizes, and a visit form the reptile zoo. The event is appropriate for all ages.

Black and White Game

The Moose Jaw Warriors are in the middle of their training camp. The team will play their annual Black and White intersquad game at Mosaic Place on Sunday at 4 p.m. Admission will be by donation. Proceeds from the game will be donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association in memory of Ethan Williams.
