The Moose Jaw Generals picked up another win last night as their season nears completion. Moose Jaw defeated the Saskatoon Contacts 5-2 on the road.
Saskatoon’s Josh Paulhus opened the scoring in the first period, but the Generals would score three straight in the second to take a 3-1 lead. All three goals were scored by Cody Davis, who also contributed an empty net goal in the third to seal the victory.
Karter McNarland had the other goal for the Contacts, while Steve Kesslering picked up the other marker for Moose Jaw. Evan Sare had three assists for the Generals.
Neither team was able to score with the man advantage, with the Contacts going 0-5 and Moose Jaw 0-2 on the powerplay.
Jaxon Taupert made 52 saves in net for the Generals. Cole Johnston stopped 15 of 20 for Saskatoon.
The game against the Contacts had been rescheduled from Sunday, Jan. 27 due to road conditions.
The Generals will play their last game of the season on Wednesday against the Beardy’s Blackhawks. The game will take place at Mosaic Place at 7 p.m.
