Three Moose Jaw Warriors prospects will hit the ice during the 2019 WHL Cup.
The tournament features the highest-rated players in the under-16 age category from Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
Goaltender Kyle Kelsey will play for Team British Columbia, while defenceman Denton Mateychuk and forward Luke Robson will play for Team Manitoba.
Several former Warriors have played in the tournament before, including Morgan Rielly, Brayden Point, Brett Howden, and Daemon Hunt.
The tournament uses a four-team round-robin format. It is the first step in Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence.
The WHL Cup was formerly known as the Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup. It has been sponsored by the WHL since 2009. This year will mark the eighth year of the event. It was hosted at Mosaic Place in 2011.
