Things did not go according to plan for the Moose Jaw Warriors on Tuesday night, as the team dropped a 7-3 decision to the Red Deer Rebels.
Red Deer got off to a hot start, scoring three goals in quick succession in the first period. Moose Jaw's Jett Woo eventually got the Tribe on the board with a powerplay marker at the 3:59 mark of the second period.
Minutes later, however, Josh Tarzwell would give the Rebels back their three goal lead. Chris Douglas and Alexander Alexeyev would also score for Red Deer in the second. The Warriors would close out the period with a goal from Luke Ormsby. Moose Jaw trailed 6-2 after 40 minutes.
Brandon Hagel would add an empty netter for Red Deer. The Warriors would eventually get one back, courtesy of Carson Denomie.
The loss ended a three-game win streak for Moose Jaw.
The Warriors ended the night 1/4 on the powerplay, while Red Deer finished 1/3 with the man advantage.
Next up for the Warriors is a match-up against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday night at Mosaic Place. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
