Charles Arrance passed away peacefully at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw, SK, on March 11, 2019 at the age of 88.
Chuck was born to Charles and Rosalie Arrance on September 24, 1930 in Prince Albert, SK, and was the 11th of 16 children. He spent most of his working life in the logging industry, eventually moving on to heavy equipment, his favorite being the CAT. It was during this time that he met and married Evelyn (Dixie) Kennedy. The couple first settled in Lardeau and eventually moved on to Thrums and Tarry's where they had better access to medical care for Dixie. Chuck is survived by his sister Lucille Therese Arrance, daughter Lana Louise Dyck, and son Raymond Edward Arrance. He will be sorely missed by all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by his numerous friends from the Thrums, Tarry's area, and especially by his close friends Jim and Pauly Markin that always treated him like family. Chuck took great pride in keeping his property neat and tidy with a well manicured lawn. In his retirement years he loved to sit out on his front deck where he could watch the logging trucks delivering their loads to the saw mills.
At Chuck's request, cremation has taken place. The family will gather on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Dixie. A Celebration of Life will be held on May long weekend (18,19,20) at his home in Thrums with free camping for all family and friends to attend. A special thank-you is extended to all caregivers from Talaico Place in Castlegare, BC, Nelson Medical Hospital, and Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw, for their end-of-life care, as well as Judy Cary and husband Ted Vlahovich, and especially to Chuck's daughter-in-law Bev Arrance who was with him through every step of his end-of-life journey.
In living memory of Chuck a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services. Please see our online book of condolences at www.parkviewfuneralchapel.ca and www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries). Blair Scott, Funeral Director.
