JOAN TERESA FARON
1929 - 2019
Joan Teresa Faron, aged 90 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully in her sleep on Christmas Day Wednesday, December 25th, 2019, which was also her mother’s birthday. After a day playing carols on the piano at the Bentley, she retired to her eternal rest. Nothing could be more appropriate! Joan was born, raised, and passed away in Moose Jaw, except for a sojourn in Toronto, ON where she studied music and was employed by Sun Life Insurance. She returned to Moose Jaw to care for her parents and remained here. Joan taught piano lessons for a number of years, as well as adjudicated musical practical exams around the province. She was involved with the Registered Music Teachers’ Association and took her place in that organization. For a number of years, she served as summer relief at the Hospital Switchboard. Joan was an original parishioner of Church of Our Lady. As well, she maintained her interest in the community and world affairs through her involvement and voracious reading, listening to the radio, and watching television. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Teresa (Chrustowski) Faron; brother, Henry; sister-in-law, Phyllis; sister and brother-in-law, Stella and Fred Gessner. Joan is survived by her nieces, Jackie, Linda, Joan, and nephew John and their families; as well as several cousins and friends. Thank you to all of the people who have assisted Joan over the years. She appreciated your care. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St, Moose Jaw, SK. Father Leonardo Tamayo will be the presiding celebrant and interment will take place at Cedoux, SK at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Joan’s name may be made to the Church of Our Lady Building Fund, attention Parking Lot Project, 566 Vaughan St, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 6L3.
