GEMMELL, Dorothy, Moose Jaw Saskatchewan passed away on March 13, 2023, born November 30, 1925.
Dorothy was raised on the family farm in the Tuxford district and attended South Lake school. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Edwin and Margaret Gemmell, brothers Robert, Sidney, James, Stanley and one sister Margaret Joan, nephews Larry and Terry Gemmell and sister-in-law Mary Gemmell. Survived by sister in-law Beverley Baumgart (Dieter) Victoria BC and nephews Roy Gemmell (Debbie) Victoria BC, Dean Gemmell (Beverley) Penticton BC. Dorothy will always be remembered for her cooking and large family gatherings every Sunday on the farm which everyone looked forward to. The family would like to thank Manon Desruisseaux, and all the staff, especially Nancy at Chez Nous who were Dorothy’s Moose Jaw family for the last 6 years. Thank you to Barbara, Jan and Doreen of Silver Wood Estates who were there to celebrate many of Dorothy’s Birthdays as she always appreciated it, and to Val Armstrong for all her visits to Dorothy. We would also like to give a special thank you to all the staff on the east wing of the Moose Jaw special care home for the compassion Dorothy was given during her brief stay there.
No service will be held at Dorothy’s request.
