Joan Lorraine Hook passed away peacefully at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK, on Saturday, February 1st, 2025. Joan was born in Swift Current, SK on October 21st, 1940, to Earl and Beatrice Smith. She spent her childhood in Swift Current and after graduating, she moved to Moose Jaw to pursue a career in nursing. There she met her love and future husband, Bill Hook. They married on April 18th, 1959. Soon after they welcomed their first son, Bill, followed by Jim and then Dave. Bill and Joan lived in several cities and towns but mainly lived in British Columbia, where Joan loved the mountain air!
Joan moved to Sylvan Lake, AB to live with Jim and then in 2021 she moved to Moose Jaw and lived at the Mulberry Estates until her passing. She had many hobbies. She loved to knit and paint, and she grew beautiful flower gardens.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bill in 2016. Joan is survived by her sons: Bill (Sherry) of Moose Jaw, SK, Jim in Sylvan Lake, AB, and Dave in Sorrento, BC. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennisa Hook, Kimberley (Kyle) Grand, Jesse (Kaitlyn) Hook, Cole (Jenna) Hook, William (Melissa) Hook, Steven Hook, and Blake Stamper; great-grandchildren: Kaybree, Brecklyn, and Daxton Loose, Mason and Lauren Grand, Olivia and Levi Hook, Kane Hook, John, Alayna, and Amber Hook; sister, Lynn Smith; brother-in-law, Jerry (Beth) Hook; sister-in-law, Chris Hook; as well as many nieces and nephews.
